Researching the plant, we found it to contain high levels of xanthine alkaloids. This natural blend of molecules prevents the quick “rush” accompanied by the “restlessness” and is followed by the “crash” often accredited to coffee and artificially caffeinated energy drinks. Nightwatch is an energy drink that actually tastes natural and healthy. We only sweeten it with fruit juices, there is no addition of artificial sugars. Let’s be honest, sugars found in fruits contain as many calories as refined sugar. However, fruit juices come with a whole bunch of constituents such as vitamins and minerals absent in refined sugar. We keep the level of calories in Nightwatch as low as possible.
Currently, the sugar level is at 4,2 grams per 100 ml. We recommend to not drink more than four bottles of Nightwatch per day. Nightwatch is flavoured with organic essential oils from flowers and these come from certified organic suppliers.
Sustainability
Nightwatch helps indigenous people to independently generate an income with the knowledge and customs of their own culture. In an effort to increase production, while simultaneously not increasing the environmental footprint, we cooperate with Dutch agricultural advisors to supply farmers with healthy young plants. Virus and pathogen-free plants grow more vigorous and produce more leaves. In a future project, we will use low-cost high-tech options to produce young plants on location leading to even more independence.
